He's actively involved in our day to day activities and brings over 35 years of leadership, marketing, project management and credit experience at a national financial institution to this role. When not in Waskesiu, he enjoys volunteering across Canada and internationally with Habitat for Humanity. Derwin and his spouse Chris live in Regina and are cabin owners in Waskesiu.

Greg is our Treasurer and has been a Director since 2010. He looks after our books preparing financial statements, tracking project expenditures and balancing the budget. Greg is a Financial Services Manager and has over 37 years of financial and human resource management experience. An avid golfer, he also volunteers as a Director of the

Greg is a Financial Services Manager and has over 37 years of financial and human resource management experience. An avid golfer, he also volunteers as a Director of the Lobstick Golf Club, serving since 2011. Greg and his family are regular visitors to Waskesiu and enjoy getting out on the lake, especially to fish.
Maxine joined the Board in 2020. She has an artistic eye and is often called upon to capture memories through photography at our events or activities. Maxine started coming to Waskesiu as a visitor with her parents in the 1960’s. She and her family have had a seasonal residence in Waskesiu since 1999 when their children were toddlers. Her

Maxine started coming to Waskesiu as a visitor with her parents in the 1960’s. She and her family have had a seasonal residence in Waskesiu since 1999 when their children were toddlers. Her other volunteer experience has been with her children’s schools, and at local hospitals. Maxine recently semi-retired as a radiologist in Saskatoon. She is putting her new found time, social skills, and imagination to work with us.

Camille has worked as a professional actor in the film, television and theatre industry for more than 25 years and continues to work professionally in Calgary, where she resides with her husband Andy and their two sons, Jack and Max. No stranger to volunteering, Camille has been on the Board of Patrons for UNICEF Calgary for the last five years, is a board member for Calgary's Lunch Box Theatre, and volunteers at her children's school. Originally from Regina, Camille has fond memories of visiting Waskesiu as a youngster and feels fortunate to now experience the magic of Waskesiu through the eyes of her children. She and her husband are proud cabin owners and are grateful to share in the amazing community of Waskesiu.

Rita joined the Board in 2018 and is continually bringing forth fresh ideas for our Waskesiu Legacy planned giving initiative. She is a retired senior executive from Cameco and has nearly 30 years experience in strategic planning, communications, government relations, investor relations and human resources. Rita also has been on of a number of charitable boards, most recently with the Royal University Hospital Foundation. She previously served on the boards of Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation, the Women’s Mid-Life Health Centre and the Saskatchewan branch of the Institute of Corporate Directors. Rita is a member of the Order of Canada for her work in advancing the employment of First Nations peoples in the workplace as well as initiatives that supported women in non-traditional roles.

Diane joined the Board in 2020. She is an active member of our Waskesiu Legacy planned giving committee. Waskesiu has been part of her life for almost 35 years. She admires the community and its passion for the preservation and responsible development of all it has to offer. Diane has held leadership positions on the council and committees of her church in Saskatoon, including over ten years on the Stewardship Committee. She volunteers with the Saskatoon Public School Foundation and has served as a director of Up With People Canada, a non-profit organization that works with youth. In Waskesiu, she volunteered at and coordinated for several years the annual Grey Owl Howl Family Dance, sponsored by the Waskesiu Seasonal Residents Association. She and her spouse, Rob, are cabin owners in Waskesiu.

Don joined the Board in 2017 and has put his woodworking skills to use crafting impressive charcuterie style boards for our Sipping Social and is a key member of our Waskesiu Legacy planned giving committee. He has a wide variety of experiences in business, public and volunteer sectors. In the past 20 years Don has gained significant governance experience as a director with Habitat for Humanity, and chairing Saskatoon Community Foundation, Waskesiu Community Council, Leadership Saskatoon and more. He served on the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority and is a facilitator in Health Care Governance Training with the Canadian Patient Safety Institute. Don also served as a parliamentarian in the House of Commons. He was recently appointed to the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency Board and chairs the Governance and Human Resources Committee. Don is a cottage owner with his spouse Marg in Waskesiu and is on the Board of the Waskesiu Heritage Museum.

Gord is a former board member of the Prince Albert SPCA and Lobstick Golf Club and owns a cottage with his spouse Donna in Waskesiu.
Chris volunteers as the Recording Secretary for our board meetings. She co-managed the Bears on the Beach playground project and is currently the Curator of the Waskesiu Heritage Museum. She is the keeper of our confidential database, handles receipting for donations, takes an active role in our social media & web presence, and manages donor communications. She is the keeper of our confidential database, handles receipting for donations, takes an active role in our social media & web presence, and manages donor communications. Raylene has a particular flair for events, creating & chairing our Family Treasure Hunt and is the co-chair of our Sipping Social. She is an independent business owner who works with a number of non-profits, including several in Waskesiu. Volunteering for the Bears on the Beach playground build was a highlight for Raylene, and she has spent many hours enjoying the equipment with her family.
