Purchased a mobile hose rack in service as of June 2023. The rack’s three levels accommodates all sizes of fire hose and provides easy access for clean hose to be wheeled over and loaded onto the pumper truck.
Purchased equipment including a turbo draft monitor, Blitzfire portable monitor, thermal image camera, Ready Rack Storage Lockers, hydrovent nozzle, and self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Also purchased battery operated tools in early 2022 such as a positive pressure fan, 2 tower lights, 2 floodlights, search light, metal cut-off saw, chainsaw, charger, batteries, and toolbox.
We've supported native plant & flower gardens in Waskesiu and partnered on signage for Audrey's Garden - the native plant garden in front of the building shared with the Waskesiu Heritage Museum and Friends of the Park.
A serious outbreak of spruce budworm threatened spruce trees in Waskesiu. We partnered with Parks Canada and the community to share the cost to protect trees in an environmentally friendly way.

We partnered with the Lobstick Golf Club to replace the iconic Lobstick tree in 2013 that stood in the middle of the first fairway since the course opened. The tree had reached the end of its natural life.
